1804 Inn

We stayed two nights in the Moscato suite of the Blue Run Cottage. Everything exceeded our expectations! The suite was cute with a cozy fireplace and a nice king sized bed. We have stayed at other vineyards cottages and this one stands out for the additional touches like wine and a cheese plate and a really nice breakfast! We hope to come back again soon!

What a great experience. First of all the experience with the staff pre-arrival was top-notch. They knew it was a special occasion and went out of their way to accommodate. We stayed in the Moscato suite and really enjoyed it. The cheese plate and wine each evening, combined with a top-notch breakfast in the room, made for a really relaxing stay. The cottages are historical, and the traveler needs to take that into account, but the work they've done made the cottages very comfortable. The HVAC units work nicely and the Wi-Fi was plenty fast, considering you're way out in the country. We ate dinner at the Palladio restaurant and had enjoyed the library wine tasting at the winery. What a great experience. We will for sure remember this for years to come and will definitely go back.

We started our multi-city vacation to celebrate our 45th anniversary at Barboursville Vineyard, and it was a wonderful experience. |We arrived at the Sangiovese at 1:45, the key was in the mailbox, the cottage ready for us. The beautiful, welcoming cottage that I loved immediately. Think Thomas Jefferson, with everything modern that you need. We started in the Discovery Room for a tasting, then moved on to our 3:30 reservation at Library 1821 for a Classic 6 flight (both of these reviewed separately).|Because the afternoon was just perfect, weather-wise, after the tastings we sat out on the nearby deck and shared our wine/cheese/fruit platter that was waiting for us in the refrigerator, and opened the bottle of Merlot that we chose for the room. Watched the cows walk by below us. Listened

The staff at the 1804 Inn is like family (!) and more: helpful, friendly and professional. A true complement to the high standard of excellence in hospitality that we have enjoyed on multiple occasions when visiting Barboursville Vineyards. The accommodations at the Inn are spotless and extremely comfortable. We stayed in the Octagon room and were able to enjoy the daily complementary cheese board and wine bottle selection on the expansive balcony vesting our eyes on the bucolic countryside all around us. Truly an amazing and relaxing stay!

I have stayed here 4 times and have had varied experiences. The wine left in the room is a lovely gesture but the cheese plate and breakfast leave much to be desired. Housekeeping could be better too. I had a similar experience with a housekeeper screaming at me that I was trespassing when I was only checking out on a sisters trip, and wanted to show them the cottage where my husband and I had stayed. Found another beautiful inn in the area where we plan to stay going forward and just stop by Barboursville as their wines are stellar.
