1000 Islands / Ivy Lea KOA Holiday

We stayed here when it was not busy first week of September. Pool area was beautiful and pools were heated. I can see pool area being too small when busy but for us was perfect. Adult only hot tub was great too. Limited hours not opening until 10 am and closing at 6 pm so that was hard to get to some days. The woods area where most cabins are and the tent sites are really nice-trailer area seems very open not private. We had two cabins-the largest one and a one bedroom/one bunk room one. Both cabins were in need of good cleaning and some paint. Any dishes must be washed before you use them but it was well supplied. Largest cabin even has full sized oven. The pictures for the large cabin showed a big dining table and chairs on the deck- it is gone and replaced with a picnic table so th

This used to be a great campground, but it has gone down drastically in the past few years. There was a change in ownership just prior to COVID and the current owners have done e very little to maintain the park.||||Basic maintenance is lacking. The previous owner used to ensure that plant growth never got out of hand. Now you can’t even use the eco trail through the woods because it hasn’t been cleared in years and the overgrowth inside the pool area is getting out of hand. The waterfall in the hot tub area is no longer functional and overgrown with vines. The emergency call button by the smaller pool is hidden behind bushes. We had an amazing time at this campground! It’s truly one of the best for families. Very kids-friendly with a huge jumping pillow, a great playground, and fun kids’ programs. The pool was super clean, and the whole site was quiet and relaxing. Definitely a place we’d love to return to!

Spent the weekend at the campground. The good: All in all they do a good job of providing activities for the kids. Grounds are clean and well maintained kabins were well maintained and clean. Lots of wasps whenever we cooked and we had to eat inside but not much that can be done about that we are in their space and I didn’t find it to be bothersome other than when eating. We chose to eat inside because I’m allergic but that kind of stuff is to be expected when camping. The bad: their staff is just odd the ‘supervisor’ or so he called himself that. The staff being very friendly is really the only saving grace of this place. We were disappointed as this didn’t live up to the KOA name. The playground is absolutely in immediate need of repair, not safe for children to play on it. The pool water was clean but the pool area itself was full of weeds and needed some maintenance of the bricks. The campsites are very small and most sites had dead trees on them so they provided no shade and no appeal. For the price we paid ($90) per night, we were expecting better.
